Video: Safari at Somalisa, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

by Travel Zone - Zimbabwe -

Among the many national parks in Southern Africa, the Hwange National Park, previously known as the Wankie Game Reserve, is considered the biggest national park in the landlocked country of Zimbabwe.

The incredible Hwange game reserve can be explored for $15/day. Many people are drawn to visiting this National Park because of the plethora of wildlife, and it's accessibility from the main road.

As you can see in the compilation of photos uploaded by FinePlaces.co.za, the park boasts to house one of the world’s biggest herds of elephants. The user particularly spent some time in the Somalisa Bush Camp, which he describes as:

“—an African Bush Camp under a canopy of Acacia trees in the wild reserves of Zimbabwe's great Hwange National Park. By day, great herds of elephant frequent the camp - refreshing their selves at the watering pan or even from the guest pool. By night, the call of lions and the cackle of hyena haunt the air. Platform tents and bucket showers mean the luxury of travel from a timeless age, while bush walks with Africa's leading guides take your senses to their limit and the feeling of 'Somalisa' to your soul.”
