Great Things To Do In The Twin Cities

The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul see more than fourteen million annual visitors. But what do all of those millions of tourists do during their time in the Twin Cities? There are countless answers to that question but this article lists some of the more popular ones.

Minneapolis is more than just the home of the Twins major league baseball team and the Target Corporation. It is a city rich in culture and history and also happens to be a great place to go on vacation, be it alone or with the entire family.

Folks from around the country who have never visited the Twin Cities are often pleasantly surprised at the bevy of attractions and sights that there are to see. And few if any of them ever go home disappointed.

The Walker Art Center and Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is one of the most unique tourist attractions you will find anywhere in the world. Established in the late 1920s, the Center is a haven for both modern works of art, next to which is the Sculpture Garden which features one of the country's most extensive collections of sculpted art.

If you are traveling with the kids, you absolutely will not want to miss the Minnesota Children's Museum. Filled with amazing interactive displays, the museum can provide a full day of fun and educational activities for children 6 months to ten years old.

For a day of shopping and eating - which are two staples of contemporary American life - there is no better place to go in Minneapolis than Grand Avenue. Located in St. Paul, Grand Avenue is 30 blocks of fantastic shops, restaurants, and open-air cafes. There are also scores of beautiful old Midwestern homes as well as a number of great spas so you can stop in and get a massage before heading back to your hotel.

If you are in the mood to spend the day indoors - or you are forced to because of snowy weather - there is no better place to go than the world-famous Mall of America. This is a world unto itself and features more than 500 stores and restaurants, and indoor amusement park, and a butterfly garden.

The Twin Cities are definitely something special to Mid-westerners but anyone who travels there will find that it is indeed one of the most enjoyable places in the world to spend a long vacation or even a weekend getaway.
